Is Hell Fire a Reality?

Regarding hell and what happens to the unsaved when they die, there exists a wide variety of opinions among those who claim to be Christian and regard the Bible as true. One would think that there should be unanimity, but apparently many do not know what the Bible actually states. Even among those who do know the Bible reasonably well, there is a powerful societal pull that wishes to define all aspects of life-after-death issues within the boundaries of our cultural paradigm. If the Bible says something different . . . well then . . . the Bible will just have to be force-interpreted in a way that matches up with cultural norms.
The Problem of Cultural Interpretation of Scripture
Over the last century, our civilization has developed an enormous sense of mercy, often at the expense of justice and personal responsibility. We no longer stigmatize unwed mothers, for that would be considered insensitive; instead, we shower them with state-awarded financial benefits. Consequently, there are many more unwed mothers than ever before. We execute few murderers and rapists anymore, for that might be called cruel; instead, such criminals have the privilege of filing endless appeals from their comfortable prison cells. Not surprisingly, our penitentiaries are burgeoning with dangerous men, living at taxpayer expense. We do not deport foreigners who have entered our country illegally, for that is mean-spirited or ungenerous. Of course, the result is swarms of illegal aliens that create a raft of problems for us. We fight wars, but go to extraordinary lengths to kill as few people as possible in the zone of combat. And then we cannot understand why—unlike our grandfathers who killed as many of the enemy as possible and won their wars—we cannot win one anymore.
The virtue of mercy has permeated so deeply into our society that it affects every aspect of our worldview, including our interpretation of the Bible. Scholars and students of Scripture alike manipulate definitions of biblical words endlessly to get the desired result: a god whose overwhelming singular characteristic is the quality of which we cannot get enough: mercy. The God of the Bible has become nothing more than a big teddy bear in the sky, ever loving, but never really angry, something of an Oprah Winfreyish, let's-have-a-group-hug, divine being. How could such a loving and kind God commit someone into a place of never-ending fiery torment? Such a mental picture is so at odds with our cultural paradigm that most people cannot entertain that thought as a serious possibility.
Other people from different periods of history had no trouble with a deity that would send someone to hell. Consider, for example, medieval Christianity. The prevailing theological ideas were somewhat a reflection of the challenges of daily life. Unlike our society, in which pain and suffering are relatively rare and life is relatively long, the European medieval world had to deal with famines, plagues, unpredictable wars for trivial reasons, and a system of serfdom that was sometimes bitterly severe. They did not expect or seek mercy. What they desired was justice: firm, clear, simple justice, a reward for those who acted responsibly and harsh punishment for those who did not. The idea that in the afterlife God would rectify the wrongs of this world was a gratifying thought. The most popular work of medieval European literature was Dante's Divine Comedy. (In those days comedy was not humorous; it was a story that had an appropriate ending. That is, the good guys won and the bad guys lost.) The Divine Comedy described the three regions of existence after death. Inferno was a description of hell and the torments of the unrepentant wicked. Purgatorio was the place where repentant sinners finished learning the hard way what they failed to learn on earth. Paradisio was the blissful home of saintly folk. Of the three portions of this epic poem, Inferno became wildly popular. Over the next several centuries, scores of great works of literature took their inspiration from Dante's narrative of hell. Literally thousands of pieces of artwork depicted his imagery in painting, sculpture, and stained glass. Strangely enough, however, Dante's different levels of hell with their sundry punishments had little fiery torment. In fact, the deepest and most dreadful portions of hell were frigid. Wicked people, evil angels, and the Devil himself all were encased in frozen lakes of thick ice.
Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of Scripture knows that hell is not portrayed as a place of cold, icy suffering. Although the Bible hints at the idea that hell may have degrees of affliction, Dante expanded this thought exponentially and developed a wide variety of torments that would perfectly correspond to the primary sins of its victims. Why, then, did this author create his hell in such a manner? And why did so many relate so well to his tale? It is because Dante, and all of the writers and artists who copied him, all were operating within the cultural paradigm of medieval society. His story satisfied their desire for justice. They believed it because they wanted to believe it.
In our time, no one wants to believe that God could judge anyone, no matter how wicked, to an eternal fate of fiery pain and anguish. Such a deity offends our over-developed sense of mercy; therefore, God cannot be like that. Surely the Bible does not actually say that some people will go to an eternal lake of fire!
Or does it? What does the Bible really say about hell?
Words for Hell and Their Meanings
This article will let Scripture speak without any attempt to correct the translators of the King James Bible. Other articles in this publication have plainly shown that their linguistic expertise exceeded any mediocre dabbling that you, I, or other modern translators do in Hebrew, Greek, or Aramaic (If you would like further explanation in this area, please ask us for the book Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Why the King James Bible Is the Single Standard for English-Speaking People). Those who really want to expunge a fiery hell from their theology can do it, but only if they avoid the impeccable scholarship of the King James Bible.
Some are quick to point out that the English word hell, used fifty-four times in the King James Bible, is derived from the Hebrew word sheol and the Greek words hades, tartarus, and gehenna. Often the reason people delve into these words and their variant meanings is simple enough: they want to avoid what is repugnant to our mercy drenched culture—a place of fiery torment called hell. So let us comment on these words.
Sheol is the Old Testament Hebrew word describing the place where the souls of all the dead went. The Bible tells us only a little of what sheol is like. This word is used exclusively in the Old Testament, and although it occasionally refers to a grave or a tomb where one's body is buried, it usually is speaking of a shadowy cavernous place of conscious existence. Old Testament Sheol had more than one section: the righteous were in relative comfort in one area, sometimes called Abraham's Bosom, but the wicked were in another portion of sheol and were most decidedly in a condition of distress and discomfort. Sheol is where Jesus' soul went while He was in the tomb. While there, He released the souls of the righteous saints and took them to a region of heaven called paradise to await the day of resurrection. However, to this very moment, the souls of the Old Testament wicked remain in sheol and are continuously being joined by the souls of the unrighteous of our own time. On the Day of Judgment, all of the wicked souls accumulated in sheol will leave this intermediate state, be raised up and connected with a resurrected body, and be delivered to their final dreadful disposition. Sheol is thus something of a vast, gloomy, dungeon-like waiting facility.
Tartarus is used only once in the Bible and is a dark pit, especially designed as a place of confinement for wicked angels and demons until the day of their release and final judgment. This special pit is a compartment of sheol. Tartarus is the same place as the bottomless pit referred to several times in the book of Revelation.
Gehenna was a city dump immediately outside of Jerusalem that was a perpetual burning and smoldering wasteland. Refuse of all sorts was cast into this ghastly zone, including corpses of diseased or homeless people. Smoke constantly rose into the sky from this region of decay, ash, and filth, for there was always a fire burning in gehenna. Jesus used this word on more than one occasion, and it does not refer to the intermediate state. The book of Revelation uses the phrase lake of fire four times. This is just another name for gehenna. Or perhaps, it might be more accurate to say that Jesus used the term gehenna as a familiar idiomatic term to refer to the lake of fire. In any case, the lake of fire is not about the intermediate state, but rather final dispositions of people whose souls and bodies have been reunited on Judgment Day.
Hades is the Greek place of the dead. The New Testament writers used it since they wrote to a Greek audience. Its meaning in Scripture must be carefully discerned by its context. In seven of the ten places it is used, it clearly corresponds to sheol. These seven places are Matthew 16:18, Acts 2:27, 2:31, and Revelation 1:18, 6:8, 20:13-14. Hades, as used in these seven places, is where souls wait for Judgment Day and the resurrection of the flesh body. In two of the ten places, it is clear that hades is being used to describe a place of final judgment. These are Matthew 11:23, and Luke 10:15.
The last place in the New Testament where the word hades is used is unique. This is Luke 16:23-24 where hades takes the reader into sheol. This story of the rich man and Lazarus describes the two primary regions of hades before Jesus' visit. One is a place of comfort and rest for the righteous, called Abraham's Bosom, while the other involves a significant measure of distress for the wicked characterized by excessive heat and dryness. Do not make the mistake of assuming this narrative is a parable or allegory, for parables never use the proper name of an individual. This description of sheol is factual.
The correct knowledge of these Hebrew and Greek words does not take us away from the idea of a fiery place of torment. Two of them, sheol and tartarus, do not describe the ultimate fate of anyone; they are the places where created beings await the moment of final adjudication when they will stand in judgment before their Creator. Sheol and tartarus refer to what theologians call the intermediate state.
In contrast, gehenna or the lake of fire is a description of what occurs at the time when resurrected bodies are connected with their corresponding souls that have been waiting and a final adjudication is made. The lake of fire or gehenna is not dealing with the intermediate state.
What we are really trying to ascertain from the Bible are questions about final judgment. Does final judgment consist of a fiery place of torment for the unrighteous? Is hell, in this sense, a real place that any sane person ought to fear?
Without further ado, let us read the verses of the New Testament that associate hell with a place of fiery torment. If you accept that the King James Bible is accurately translated, then an honest reading makes it impossible to deny the reality of final judgment of the wicked as a place fiery torment. Of course, if you want to pick your favored translation or play word games to achieve a predetermined outcome more in taste with our mercy-drenched culture, then you can invent any final disposition of the unrighteous that you wish.
Here are the verses that actually use the English words hell and fire in the same verse that point to fiery torment as the central element of final judgment:
Matthew 5:22: "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
Matthew 18:9: "And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than two eyes to be cast into hell fire."
Mark 9:43-48: "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: for it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
James 3:6: "And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and is set on fire of hell."
Revelation 20:14-15: "And death and hell [hades = sheol] were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
There are additional verses in the New Testament that use the Greek word gehenna, translated as hell in English, in the context of final judgment of the wicked. Thus, the concept of fiery torment is imbedded in the verse even though the word fire does not appear. Here are these verses:
Matthew 5:29-30: "And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell [gehenna]. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell [gehenna]."
Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell [gehenna]."
Matthew 23:33: "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell [gehenna]?"
Luke 12:5: "But I will forwarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell [gehenna]; ye, I say unto you, Fear him."
As listed above, nine different places in the New Testament prove that hell, in the sense of final judgment, is a place of fiery torment. Three different gospel writers record the words of Jesus on this matter. Two different books beyond the gospels state the same. How much more proof does one need?
Well, if you need it, here is more evidence. Please look at these seven additional passages that do not use the word hell at all, but plainly teach that the final place of the wicked is a place of fiery torment:
Matthew 13:49-50: "So shall it be at the end of the world: he angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 25:41,46: "Then shall he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels . . . And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."
2 Thessalonians 1:8-9: "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who being punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power."
Jude 1:4,7: "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation . . . Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner . . . are set forth for an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."
Revelation 14:9-11: "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
Revelation 20:10: "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
The teachings of Scripture are clear. Final judgment of both wicked men and angels is eternal, fiery torment in a place that is often called hell.
Frequently Asked Questions
Since fire is a force that destroys, is it not a possibility that the souls of the wicked dead are completely eradicated by hell fire and then have no existence whatsoever? No. The Bible teaches that all descendants of Adam will be resurrected into a body that cannot be destroyed; this is sometimes referred to as the general resurrection. The fact that the new bodies of the wicked cannot be destroyed explains why Jesus said three times successively: "where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:43-48). You see, the worm that normally consumes a corpse and then itself perishes when the food source is gone does not die because the bodies of the wicked dead regenerate as quickly as they disappear. This is a morbid thought, but it is what Jesus meant; it should capture your attention and act as a motivator to avoid this frightful place!
Is not the second death mentioned in Revelation 21:8 an indicator of the total termination of the existence of these wicked folk? No. The second death has relevance only in context of those who have been resurrected from the dead. It makes little sense to resurrect someone only to permanently destroy them again. However, it is quite plausible to be resurrected into a body that cannot be destroyed. Furthermore, these wicked are cast into the lake of fire where all who partake of this dreadful destination will suffer forever.
Is not the "eternal fire" of Sodom and Gomorrha in Jude verse seven really just a way of saying they will be destroyed and never exist again? After all, these cities are no longer burning. Of course, the buildings and structures of the cities no longer burn. God does not punish bricks and mortar; He punishes the people who inhabit them. If you also look at Jude six, you will see a parallel between the angels that sinned and the people of Sodom and Gomorrha who are being punished. Both will receive the same fate. They will be reserved in a dark place (sheol), awaiting Judgment Day. Then they shall have their part in "eternal fire."
Since fire is a force that is used in purification, is it not a possibility that the fiery torment only lasts for an extended period of time and then the souls of the wicked are restored to a right relationship with God? No. It is clear from Revelation 14:11 that the torment of those people that take the mark of the beast and are cast into the lake of fire will have ongoing torment without end: "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever." It is plain enough from Revelation 20:10 that the three fallen angels known as the devil, the beast, and the false prophet will suffer without end: " . . .and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever." From Jude we learn that the wicked deceivers in verse four shall be punished with the "vengeance of eternal fire" (Jude 7). The words of Jesus are simple when He describes His final judgment of the men of all nations of Adam: "These shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" (Matthew 25:46). Thus we see that all who are cast into the lake of fire will suffer there without end, whether they be men or angels.
But does not the word everlasting in Matthew 25:46 really mean "age lasting" since the Greek word is aionios, as in the English word eon? To believe this you have to believe that the King James translators, who labored in teams and quadruple checked their work, were breathtakingly incompetent to make such a basic error on a topic of such extraordinary importance. Furthermore, you also have to believe that the "life eternal" referred to in Matthew 25:46 is also "age lasting," for the word eternal is also aionios in Greek. What kind of salvation would Jesus be providing if it expired after a period of time?
Is it not possible that hell fire is simply an allegorical tool that New Testament writers used to frighten people? Certainly any sensible person should be terrified of eternal fiery torment in hell, but it is merely wishful thinking and the sloppiest of hermeneutics to suggest that the New Testament writers were speaking allegorically. It is taught too frequently and with the most straightforward language possible, complete with grave warnings. One cannot cogently argue that hell fire is merely an allegorical literary device.
Does not this doctrine make God a horribly cruel and nasty deity? One might draw that conclusion, but only if we ignore the depth of our own rebellion and hatred against the God Who lovingly gave us life and merely asked that we obey His simple commands. Furthermore, God has used scores of prophets and even His only Son to plead with us, beg us, and implore us to return to Him so that such a dreadful fate can be averted. While God knows in His providential will that some shall reject Him, in His moral will He would plainly ". . . have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4). Remember, it is only the hardhearted, having repeatedly spurned God's gracious invitations, who will essentially write their own ticket to hell fire by declaring their determination that they wish to be eternally separated from their loving Creator.
Please! Do not build your theology from our present cultural paradigm that emphasizes mercy as the only virtue of note. Instead, look at the plain teachings of the Bible. It is my appeal to you that you reflect on the reality of hell fire and come to your Father in heaven through the blood of Jesus Christ, making Him your savior and applying His sacrifice as the covering for your sin. Find your way back to Jehovah, giving Him great pleasure and causing His holy angels to rejoice at your repentance.

THE LOST TEN TRIBES OF ISRAEL
But Spiritually Blind, Disillusioned, and Despairing

The most mysterious enigma of biblical history has been resolved: the famous lost ten tribes of Israel that walked out of the pages of the Bible and vanished as hostage taken captive by the fierce, brutal Assyrian armies about 721 B.C. have reappeared—alive but alarmingly distressed. The DNA of these missing millions of Israelites has been found amid the tens of millions of Caucasian peoples that once comprised the homogenous race that explored, settled, and civilized the United States of America, the Dominion of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and long before that the countries of Northwestern Europe, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom. The millions of these Caucasians descended from the lost ten tribes of Israel are no longer lost! History, archeology, heraldry, and anthropology have carefully mapped their westward trek from Central Asia across the Caucasus into northwestern Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and across the Atlantic into America and Canada and all the way into New Zealand and Australia. These are the very people who carved out of every primeval wilderness that they traversed great nations, civilizations, and cultures.
Today, these people are essentially lost to their spiritual, ethnic, and racial roots. Even though these are they who built churches, translated and published Bibles, evangelized the world with the Gospel, and have built the greatest armies and navies the world has ever known, they do not know their identity. Even though they engineered a majority of the inventions of the past several centuries, landed a man on the moon, and stationed people in the far-off regions of outer space, they do not know they are the same people called Israel in the Bible and known as the Caucasian race. Sadly, these very people who have blessed all the nations of the earth do not even know their own biblical history.
These Caucasian peoples have been the great liberators of history as they have sent their soldiers to die in the liberation of the oppressed and enslaved around the world. They have supplied aid and comfort, food, medicine, clothing, and other essentials to victims of natural disasters from one end of the globe to the other. These are the nations that have lent billions to countries throughout the world and have asked little or nothing in return. They continue to be the most generous and compassionate people on Earth.
Sadly, these very people who have given so much and asked for so little now find themselves lost in spiritual blindness, moral decadence, plunging economic fortunes, skyrocketing costs of living, erosion of the value of their money, and worst of all, riddled from one end of the Anglo- Saxon world to the other with the most incompetent politicians, educators, and preachers in recent history. Millions of these people languish in despair as they try to find hope in a world that offers them nothing but protracted, no-win wars, political corruption, economic enslavement, and governments that inch toward Communism.
Millions of these Caucasian descendants of ancient Israel live disillusioned and despairing as they watch their once great Christian homelands converted into third-world nation status. The countries where these people reside are gripped in spiritual apathy and moral decadence, complete with rejection of God and the authority of His Word. As for the former Christian values and absolute truth of former generations, those are being swept away in a giant tsunami of progressive, liberal humanism.
Moral and spiritual values are in free fall commensurate with the spiritual and moral meltdown these nations are suffering. Combine these with economic decline, a plunging standard of living, high unemployment, and a future without hope, and you will find the remnant of these lost ten tribes in absolute despair. With the rapid decline of American, British, and European military power and influence around the world, frustration, disillusionment, and hopelessness have descended on their shoulders. Needless to say, there is a compelling need for a spiritual and moral revival of these millions of Caucasian peoples descended from ancient Israel. They are drifting in spiritual blindness, ignorant of God’s holy Word, and do not know that they indeed are the very people for whom the Bible was written to, for, and about. From Genesis to the maps, the Bible is their family’s history. Beginning in Genesis 12:1 with the call of Abraham to the last word in the book of Revelation, the Bible is about Israel.
Rest assured, God has not lost His people. The unconditional covenants, charters, and guarantees He made with and for these people will not fail. The time has come for the blindness to removed from the eyes of modern Israel. It is time for the covenant people to identify the Bible as their history book and claim Jesus Christ as their great Shepard. Spiritual apathy, moral decadence, and the falling fortunes of their respective countries cannot and will not change until a wave of sincere repentance, confession of sin, retreat from wickedness, and a return to the Living God and the authority of His Word occurs. We can only trust and pray that in due season, the woes and tribulations of these people will become so acute that in desperation they will seek the face of their God and return to their first love of His Word and find their way to Jesus Christ, their Great Shepherd.
These millions of Israelite captives that were carried off into the vast landmass of Central Asia then occupied and controlled by the warring Assyrians have been the subject of theological debates and endless speculation. Some of the most brilliant theologians and historians of biblical repute have endeavored to resolve the riddle of the lost ten tribes of Israel that once constituted the mighty kingdom of Israel. This kingdom existed as a separate, sovereign nation under the reign of nineteen different kings arising from nine or more dynasties from the death of Solomon in B.C. 975 until its demise some two and one half centuries later, when the well-equipped Assyrian armies invaded, plundered, and completely conquered the nation.
The tens of millions of people descended from the lost ten tribes of Israel have left their fingerprints all over the history of the Western Christian world and the nations of America, the Dominion of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. The countries of northern and western Europe were all peopled by these Israelites who pushed their way westward in the centuries that followed their captivity at the hands of the Assyrians in the vast regions of Central Asia. Millions of these Israelites remained under Assyrian rule until the Assyrians themselves were oppressed and conquered by the Babylonians about 606 B. C.
With the chaotic, turbulent breakup of the Assyrian Empire at the hands of the Babylonian (Chaldean) armies, the Israelites in exile throughout the Assyrian Empire began to migrate west toward the Caucasus for an extended period of years. Three major migrations of Israelites out of Central Asia occurred six hundred years before the birth of Jesus Christ.
One primary branch of the Israelites is commonly called the Cimmerians. Within a century after their arrival into the lands of the Medes, specifically from the region of Halah and Habor, they moved westward across the Euphrates River and around the southern shores of the Black Sea north into the region of Arsareth. Jehovah promised that He would scatter Israel in their captivity to a region beyond the river, which is commonly known as the Euphrates: “For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger” (I Kings 14:15). Once having crossed the Euphrates and moved westward, this branch of the Israelites would be prevented from moving south into the region of Asia Minor. Instead, they would move westward, traveling along the southwestern shores of the Black Sea. This journey would take them into the region of Carpathian Mountains and the valley of the great Danube, the same region named Arsareth in II Esdras 13 in the Apocrypha.
While the armies of Nebuchadnezzar were invading the kingdom of Judah, the Israelites who had moved westward from Halah and Habor, crossing the Euphrates, migrated south and west of the Black Sea into the valley of the Danube and beyond into the Carpathian Mountains. Once they arrived in the land of Arsareth, they continued to move westward, crossing the Danube and moving through Hungary, Austria, and into Europe. Another branch of the Cimmerians would go north toward Russia and merge with the Scythians, who migrated westward from the region of Central Asia north of the Caucasus.
A second major branch of the exiled Israelites removed from the Northern Kingdom of Israel under authority of the Assyrian armies between 741-721 B.C. purposed to take a different route to the appointed birthright lands in Northern and Western Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and further points west into North America, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. This multitude of people moved en masse between the Black and the Caspian Seas, crossing the Araxes River. Once having moved north through the Dariel Pass (otherwise know as the “Pass of Israel”), they passed through the Caucasus Mountains. This range of mountains extends from northwest to southeast between the Black and Caspian Seas, for some 750 miles. The range is up to 120 miles wide and is important because it marked Israel with the name Caucasian. This name has always identified the Nordic peoples of Europe, Scandinavia, and the British Isles, and this resulted from the long-established historical fact that the Nordic race came out of the Caucasus and poured into the lands of northern and western Europe.
This Israelite migration coming through the Caucasus soon spread into Southern and Eastern Europe, merging in some places with their fellow Israelites, the Cimmerians. Others spread out into the Steppes of Southern Russia, merging with still a third branch of the Israelites then in migration from the lands of their Assyrian captives.
This third migration of Israelites from the ten tribes made their way around the eastern side of the Caspian Sea, moving through the vast territory between the Oxus and Jaxartes Rivers. In time, historians began to refer to this large mass of people as the Massagetae, the Sakka, and the Alans. This multitude established themselves in Southern Russia for about three hundred years, from approximately 600 to 300 B. C. As they settled in this region, they took on the name Scythia, given them by the Greeks. The Scythians produced grain which the Greeks needed; thus, trade developed between these countries. The Scythians occupied a vast region north of the Caucasus Mountains and eventually spreading into the broad steppes of Russia and the region of the Ukraine.
In time, the name Scythian became a generic name for all branches of ten-tribed Israel as they migrated first around the southwestern shores of the Black Sea and into the valley of the Danube, north through the Caucasus, and east of the Caspian Sea. These various branches of Israelites, often called Scythian, include the Cimmerians, Khumri, Massagetae, Sakae, Engels, Goths, Alans, and others.
As this vast multitude migrated north and west into Europe, Scandinavia, and the British Isles, they became known by several different names, including the Celts, Lombards, Goths, Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Belgae, Norsemen, Northmen, Vikings, Danes, Varangians, Germani, Alemani, Teutones, Angles, Saxons, etc. Many of these Israelite tribes emerged into the political states that we know as Germany, Denmark, France, England, Scotland, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.
The Birthright Nations
Bible students are familiar with the fact that out of the twelve sons of Jacob, several of them were destined for unique greatness. To Judah was given the sceptre or ruling authority, while Joseph was given the birthright. The power of the sceptre given to Judah established a line of royal descent through which all the ruling kings and queens of the Israelite peoples would come. All of the royal families that once ruled or continue to rule the various countries of Europe are descended from King David. This is especially true of the British Throne, one of the oldest continuing thrones in the world. Genesis 49:10 provides confirmation that the sceptre would not depart from Judah until Shiloh, or the Lord Jesus Christ, would return to assume the throne of Israel and rule over the kingdoms of this world. All of the royal families of Europe and the British Isles are related by blood and descended from the tribe of Judah.
Another of the twelve sons of Jacob that took on great significance was Joseph. As the birthright son who replaced Reuben because of Reuben’s egregious sin, Joseph came into honor; as heir to the birthright he received a double portion of the blessing. Both the patriarchal blessing and the divine endowment from Jehovah God insured Joseph’s significance in history. The two sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, became a tribe in Israel with equal standing with all the others. As the birthright son, Joseph was given the promise of great birthright lands (not to be confused with the Promised Land given to Abraham). In concert with the promise of territory, Joseph was to bring forth an abundance of offspring to populate the large expanses included in his birthright.
From the loins of Ephraim and Manasseh were to spring a nation and a multitude of nations in the midst of the earth (Genesis 48:16, 19)—and this in fulfillment of the prophetic word delivered to Jacob years earlier when Jehovah promised this: “And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padamaram, and blessed him. And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins” (Genesis 35:10-11). Ultimately, this promise was fulfilled when the sons of Joseph were given a double portion in people and lands. From the loins of Joseph, through Ephraim and Manasseh, tens of millions of people (Genesis 24:60) would be multiplied. This immense multitude would ultimately blossom into the British Commonwealth of Nations, the “multitude of nations in the midst of the earth” of Genesis 48:16, 19. During the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901), the British Empire reached its apex in might, power, and influence and was unsurpassed by any other empire ever. The continents and sea-lanes of the world were under British domination. It is said that the sun did not set on lands not owned or controlled by this mighty combine of nations under the British Royal Crown.
The children of Manasseh, the other birthright son, would become the progenitor of the original colonial seed planting that would become the United States of America, the great people or nation of Genesis 48:19. This singularly great nation would by itself become the most powerful nation ever. In 1945, at the end of World War II, America emerged as the most important military and naval power of the world. Because America possessed the atomic bomb, she was unequaled by any other nation on earth. By 1969, the United States had successfully planted a man on the moon, and by the late 1900s, she far surpassed the Soviet Union by every index that measures national greatness.
People living in the aftermath of World War II to the present have literally watched in amazement the rapid decline of the British Empire as one nation after the other gained its independence from the British Crown and separated from the empire. Today, though she remains a strong nation, Great Britain is but a shadow of her former glory. She is being overrun with Muslim hordes, Black ghettos, a growing welfare state, and is becoming entrenched in Socialism, which is destroying the country. Once the most respected naval power ever to sail the oceans, the British Navy has been reduced to a pitiful state compared to its former glory.
The United States of America, the single great nation fulfilling the role of Manasseh, rocketed to power following World War I (1918). By the end of World War II (1945), America had become the greatest military and economic power on earth. No nation in history ever rose to greatness so quickly. Sadly, perhaps no country in the annals of history has ever plummeted in a free fall from glory more quickly than has our own beloved America. Beginning with the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and in the aftermath of the Korean War (1950-1953) and the Vietnam nightmare (1963-1973), the United States fell into a sharp decline. Today, the U. S. is bankrupt from waging no-win wars abroad and from building the welfare/entitlement/socialist state at home.
The U.S. has accumulated a seventeen-trillion-dollar debt, is exhausted from waging no-win, international, undeclared wars since 2001, and is under siege by a tidal wave of illegal nationals pouring in from Mexico, Central and South America, and elsewhere crossing over our southern border and squatting on American soil. The welfare state has accumulated a class of dependent welfare recipients that is unsurpassed. A progressively socialist government, perhaps one of the most corrupt bureaucratic central governments in the annals of history, now imposes its police powers over the individual states making up America. This country is spiritually and morally bankrupt as abortion, sodomy, miscegenation, fornication, adultery, drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling, and preoccupation with materialism, hedonism, collectivism, welfare entitlement, and narcissism consume a majority of our citizens. May God help us!
In the face of this national crisis, not only have our people disconnected from God, repudiated His laws, disgraced the name of Jesus Christ, and scorned His Word, but also we have disconnected from our own ethnic history and heritage.
Caucasians now celebrate Black history, Mexican history, Native American history, and bow in reverence to every color but white, while the rich Christian and biblical heritage of the Caucasian people remains in the archives, untouched and unarticulated by a culture inebriated on political correctness, racial diversity, multiculturalism, and the worship of human reason above faith in God and belief in His authoritative Word. The Caucasian people of America have no voice to represent them in this country. Essentially, they are a disenfranchised people as a swelling non-white subculture seizes control of the voting booths. The country is facing imminent bankruptcy as European-style socialism suffocates the last of the remaining free market Capitalism.
The U.S. is in retreat from Central Asia. The list of those who hate this country grows longer by the day. The sons of Ishmael, otherwise known as the radical, fundamental Muslim Extremists, consolidate their gains and continue to terrorize the U. S. at every possible opportunity. The Edomite sons of Satan sit astride the financial and banking institutions of the country and control the cinema and entertainment industry in Hollywood as well as the carefully managed television networks. The Edomites own the White House, install Presidents of their choosing, and own many of the members of the U. S. Senate and House.
What Can We Do?
The only hope for America at this late hour lies in our Savior Jesus Christ. God alone can save America. We cannot reverse the tide of the non-white masses swarming in America. It is simply too late to save this nation racially. It is unlikely that moral decadence will be checked before a repeat of Sodom and Gomorrah ends it all in the fiery judgment of God. Spiritual apathy combined with the tidal wave of immorality makes it highly unlikely that repentance will ever sweep this nation prior to the impending judgment of God.
The most important model for remnant Christians to follow is to respond with heart felt contrition to a time of full repentance. In heartfelt, godly repentance, remnant Christians must seek the face of God and find their way back to His unchanging and absolute Word of truth. We must purpose to “Occupy Till He Comes” by every means available to us. We must exercise Christian dominion over every portion of rural America that we can lay our hands on, begin to multiply children with godly training and private education, grow our own food, and practice biblical separatism in our families, homes, churches, and communities.
We must retrace our biblical and racial roots back to ancient Israel and rediscover our heritage. This biblical heritage we must teach to our children. We must pray that God will ignite a spiritual fire in the hearts of a Christian remnant to hold the fort and move forth in Christian dominion in every way we can. We are the covenant people of the Bible, and Jehovah is a covenant keeping God. He will honor the unconditional covenants He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the millions descended from them. The future belongs to those who love God, cherish and serve one another, and exercise Christian stewardship over every aspect of our lives. One with God is a majority.
We may have lost the battle, but the war is still ours to win. If we aim at nothing, nothing is exactly what we will find. So, onward, Christian soldiers! God will not forsake His covenant people! The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still alive and on His throne. Jehovah will be faithful in the execution and performance of the unconditional covenant of promise He made with Abraham and his posterity. By the sworn oath of Jehovah Himself, His children shall not perish from this earth or His Kingdom fail! As long as the sun, moon, and stars, heaven and earth, day and night continue, His people Israel will never cease from being a nation upon this earth. Praise be to the name of Jesus Christ and His coming Kingdom!
