“O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.  O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.  Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? Prudent, and he shall know them? For the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.”  [Hosea 13:9;14:1, 9]

Has the God of Heaven granted a pause, a brief reprieve in His chastisement upon America?   For six long years this country has been laboring under the heavy oppression of a foreign-born ideologue whose allegiance is to Allah, and his prophet Mohammad, whose political objectives rest in the twin evils of socialism and communism, and whose distaste for America and anything Christian is unmistakable.

Nothing that I know of in ancient Israel compares to the dark cloud that has darkened the skies over America since the Presidential election of 2008.   That those clouds would grow even darker in the aftermath of the Presidential election in 2012 was more than millions of Americans could fathom.  Hearts have been broken, tears have been shed, lives shattered, and prayers of despair have ascended to heaven during the past six years as millions of Americans have helplessly and hopelessly watched their country being dismantled from within and destroyed from without.  A tidal wave of foreign born alien third world illiterate people swarms the landscape of America.

During the past six years, the U.S. Government has grown the largest, most expansive welfare system the world has ever known.  More than one-half of the American population receives at least one form of welfare from a debt ridden government that has mounted a national debt racing toward 18 trillion dollars, the largest debt ever mounted by any nation in the history of the world.  The median income for tens of millions of the American public has continued to shrink as the U.S. government, now reaching gargantuan size, continues to become the largest bureaucratic government on earth.   The standard of living for multiplied millions continues to plunge as the millennial generation struggles to find jobs and any future in a country that seems to have totally lost its way.

In the midst of economic meltdown, foreign invasion, and a geo-political world that is aflame with wars and rumors of war, the American public is profoundly lost in spiritual apathy and moral decadence unlike any thing that has occurred among our Anglo-Saxon people since the days of ancient Israel just prior to the Assyrian invasion, plunder, and captivity of that nation some seven hundred and more years before the birth of Jesus.  Modern America is following the precise pathway of ancient Israel as we march toward our much deserved judgment from the Eternal God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Now in the very midst of our national travail has the God of Heaven, in great mercy and compassion, allowed this country a brief reprieve?  Has God been so kind and merciful that He has granted us a day of reflection and repentance as we march toward our own self-inflicted judgment?   The mid-term 2014 election results appear to be the evidence that God is saying to America, “I have given you a temporary reprieve to come to a state of collective national repentance; set your house in order and restore yourselves to the covenant made with me by your ancestors, lest I bring colossal and catastrophic judgment upon your heads.”

The beleaguered Republican Party, plagued with division, uncertainty, and lack of clear focus and goals, managed by the goodness and mercy of God to capture the U.S. Senate, strengthen its hold on the House of Representatives, enlarge the number of Governors to thirty-two, and control more than sixty of the ninety-nine State legislative houses across America.  The Democratic Party was delivered a powerful blow as Americans went to the polls on November 4, 2014.   The House of Representatives will seat the greatest number of Republicans since 1929.

Political power was ripped away from the Democrats as a tide of opposition swept over the failed socialist/communist policies that have bent, bruised, bloodied, and all but broken America during the past six years.  Some 332 bills from the House of Representatives have been passed and sent on to the U.S. Senate, only to languish and die in the hands of the Majority Leader, Harry Reid.

Under Mitch McConnell, the new majority leader in the U.S. Senate, we can only pray that the U.S. Senate in concert with a Republican House will immediately set about to right the wrongs inflicted upon the American people during the past six years.  The most immediate problems to be addressed would include but not be limited to these:

  1. Securing the borders of the United States of America.  Cutting off every form of medical, welfare, educational, and other benefits to Mexican nationals, and imposing heavy fines and mandatory prison sentences upon any employer who hires an undocumented alien from Mexico or anywhere else.
  2. Repeal the oppressive, unworkable, socialist Government-imposed unaffordable health care law slapped upon America after the election of 2008.
  3. Remove every government obstacle that prevents the U.S. from becoming energy independent.   Remove undue restrictions and government regulations from oil drilling, natural gas, coal mining, and other energy sources.  Grant immediate approval to the Key-Stone pipe line.
  4. Dismantle the Internal Revenue Service and implement a “fair tax” for all Americans, repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, sharply reduce corporate taxes, and return American capital and jobs from other countries.
  5. Dismantle unnecessary bureaucratic arms of the United States Government, beginning with but not limited to the Department of Energy and Education.
  6. Remove all government funding from Planned Parenthood.
  7. Initiate Constitutional amendments that would nullify, undo, and roll back Supreme Court decisions on the sins of abortion, miscegenation, sodomy, and same-sex marriage.
  8. Implement voter ID in every State.
  9. Declare a moratorium on all foreign aid until the United States Government is able to resolve its debt problems.
  10. Call for a day of national prayer and fasting during which all commerce and business ceases and people are encouraged to go to their respective places of worship and petition God’s forgiveness for personal and national sins.

God has granted a temporary reprieve to America in the aftermath of the mid-term Presidential Elections.  Let us not squander this opportunity to turn back to the God with Whom our Christian fathers and mothers entered into covenant with when they founded Jamestown, 1607, Plymouth Colony in 1620, and other colonies along the New England seashore.   God in His loving care and compassion has granted us a reprieve from His chastening judgment….For God’s sake, and the future of our children, let us humble ourselves and upon our knees seek the face of our Mighty God through faith in Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God.  Our failure to come to full and complete repentance before a Holy God can only invite cataclysmic judgment upon our land!
